Monday was meant
to be my first day back at work, but instead I got to spend more time with you.
I couldn’t be happier with my decision to not go back to work until next year.
I wish I didn’t have to go back to work at all, but I’m sure you will like
spending a couple of days at Kamo Tots next year. The other day you will get to
play at Pammy’s house. Monday we drove out to Wellington’s Bay. I put your
yellow polka dot blanket on the grass and we played underneath the Pohutukawa
tree. You seemed to really like looking up at the leaves blowing in the breeze.
We also stopped at another little bay on the way back to Ngunguru. I’ve
forgotten the name of the bay, but it’s the bay between Wellington’s Bay and
Church Bay. I wanted to find some shells, drift wood or stones for your
treasure basket, but you were getting upset and were over the beach by that
point. I picked up a few things and we had a quick walk along the pebbly beach,
before going back to the car and heading home. You slept most of the trip home.
This week you also had a little play at Nana Rosetta’s and Poppa Don’s house
while I went to a mini first aid course. I learnt what to do if you ever choked
or if I needed to give you CPR. Hopefully I will never need to help you with
either of those things, but at least now I know what to do if I ever do need
to. Wednesday we went to SPACE and made a foot imprint, as well as lots of
singing. We sang a new song about kina and sea creatures today. It had really
cool actions to it as well. I will have to learn them so that I can do it with
you at home. I think the song was called Kina Kina, Wheke Wheke. On Thursday we
had dinner at Poppa’s house because it was his birthday. He loved having you
there on his special day. You had been really upset all day so Uncle Dyllan
played with you while we ate dinner and then I put you into your carrier. You
cuddled into me as you cried and then soon fell asleep. It makes us so sad when
you’re upset. I felt so sorry for you today that when I went to the book shop
to pick Poppa up a card I also bought you a little book about Old Mc Donald’s
Farm, with a little cow finger puppet poking through the middle. Love you so much.
Love from Mummy xo
