Week Twenty Two

To My Little Bear

Happy 5 months Luke! This week you haven’t been sleeping very well. I’m not sure if it’s because you’re teething, the heat or because we’ve transitioned you to your big cot now. Monday night was your last night in your bassinette. Daddy set your cot up beside my side on the bed so that you can still be close to us. You look so small in your big cot. We’ve made your bed up at the end of the bed so that if you wriggle down in the night you won’t get stuck underneath the sheet. I still put you in your Love 2 Dream Swaddle, but I have zipped off the sleeves because you can roll over now. A couple of times you’ve even rolled over onto your tummy while you were in your cot. This week we also got your big car seat installed at Baby on the Move because your feet are overhanging the end of your capsule. On Thursday there was a Christmas sale at Farmers so we went and bought some new decorations for our tree. I’ve also ordered you your own special decoration from the UK. It’s a sparkly red bauble with your name on it. It also says ‘My First Christmas 2015’ and has red and white ribbon attached so you can hang it on our tree. We’re going to get a real Christmas tree so have to wait until December. Saturday we went to Kyle’s wedding out at Pacific Rendervous, at Tutukaka. It was raining in the morning, but the sunshine came out for their wedding in the afternoon. You looked so cute dressed up in your blue Pumpkin Patch shirt and dress shorts. It was our first night away together. We set up your play gym in the living area and Daddy put up your portable cot in our bedroom. We kept you with us at the wedding until you needed to go to bed. Then Daddy put you to bed and looked after you for a couple of hours while I stayed at the wedding for a bit longer. We had wanted to take you to the beach the next day, but it wasn’t the nicest weather so we went home. Thank you for being such a good boy at the weekend. Love you so much.

Love from Mummy xo
