To My Little Bear
Merry Christmas Lukey Bear! I hope you had a magical first Christmas. A couple of days before Christmas we took you around the Christmas light trail in town. You loved all of the twinkling lights and couldn’t stop looking at them. We took you to a house in Fairway Drive and another house at the start of Memorial Drive. It was dark outside so we wrapped you up nice and warm before we took you out. It was worth it to see your little face when you saw all the lights for the very first time. On Christmas Eve your first Christmas Eve box arrived from the North Pole. Mummy and Daddy order the items from Santa’s workshop and the elves deliver the box to outside our house. They didn’t let us see them, but left your box by the back door. It was freezing cold. I guess that’s because it comes all the way from the North Pole. Inside your box was a new Christmas outfit to wear on Christmas Day, a story to read, a movie to watch, some reindeer food to sprinkle on the grass for the reindeer, a cuddly reindeer toy and your first letter from Santa. Daddy helped you to put carrots on the lawn and you poured out your reindeer food. There’s a little poem that goes with the reindeer food.
It goes something like this…
Sprinkle on the lawn at night
The moon will make it sparkle bright
As Santa’s reindeer fly and roam
This will guide them to your home
After you put out the food and water for the reindeer we helped you to put out milk and cookies for Santa. Then we watched your Pepper Pig Christmas movie. Santa even rang you after the movie and you fell asleep while he was talking to you. Santa knew you were very tired. Santa told you all about his reindeer, elves and his magical toy shop. He said he was very happy that your letter and Christmas Eve box. He wished you a Merry Christmas before he said goodbye and went back to getting ready to deliver presents to children all over the world.
Christmas morning you woke up with a big smile and had cuddles in bed with Daddy and me. Santa had filled your sparkly Christmas stocking with lots of presents and left it under the tree. He must have known how good you had been this year. We helped you to open all of your special presents from Santa and then we had breakfast with everyone. We also gave you your big present – a jungle themed exersaucer. You sit inside it and it has lots of different toys for you to play with. You’re still a bit small for it so we have to prop you up with a blanket inside the seat. After everyone had gone home Oma and Opa video called us from Holland. You fell asleep on the bed while we were talking to them. After your nap we packed up the car with yummy Christmas treats and presents; then drove down to Poppa and Gail’s house for lunch. Great Gran and Pop were there too, as well as Uncle Dyllan. We had a big lunch together and then Poppa and I took you for a walk up Smithville Road to try to get you to sleep. Before lunch time we opened all of the presents too. Poppa gave you a tractor toy that lights up and says different things. It has a little trailer and a black faced, white cow just like the ones Poppa has. Poppa played with you in the lounge with your new tractor. Before we went to Nana’s for dinner we took you home so you could have a short sleep in your bed. It was a really big day for you and you were so amazing. We were so proud of you. There were more presents at Nana’s house from Nana and Alex, Nana Rosetta and Poppa Don, Uncle Dyllan and of course from Daddy and me. You even got your very first Tonka truck from Poppa Don. You were so spoilt by everyone with all your presents. I’ll put some photos in your envelop so you can see some of your presents. After dinner and dessert we packed all the presents into the car, thanked everyone and took you home to bed. It was the best Christmas Daddy and I have ever had. We loved celebrating your very first Christmas with you and hope that you had a magical first Christmas. We love you so much Lukey Bear xo.
Love from Mummy xoxo
