Week Thirty Eight

To My Little Bear

On Monday it was Poppa Don’s birthday. We had dinner there and you gave him a painting that I helped you make at home. He was so proud of your hard work and has decided to hang your special painting up in his lounge. Your Poppa Don and Nana Rosetta love you soooo much Luke! I packed a picnic lunch this week and took you to the Quarry Gardens on one of my days off. We went for a walk up to the lake and waterfall, picked some flowers and then stopped at a grassy spot on the way back down for a picnic. I wanted to take some photos for your scrapbook and photo album, but you got into the mouse traps while I was doing that and started eating your lunch. You love being outside. I blew bubbles for you while we were having our picnic, but then I accidentally tipped over the bubble solution. You cried so much when I couldn’t make any more bubbles. I felt so bad and promised you that I’d buy you some more. I always try and do some fun sensory activities with you or take you out when I have my days off work during the week. On Wednesday I set up a tray with water and the flowers I picked from the gardens for a water play activity for it. You’re still not too sure about the water, but liked playing with the flowers. We also made discovery bottles—each bottle had something different in it. One had different coloured craft sticks (your favourite), another I put water with cooking oil and food colouring in,     different coloured pipe cleaners and one with colourful, sparkly pom poms. I also used your old car seat box and pushed fairy lights through it to make you a hut. You LOVE playing in here. On Sunday we went to Touch a Truck Day at Hurupaki School (my old primary school). Poppa came with us too while Daddy was at work. There were lots of trucks, tractors, fire engines, police cars and other farm   machinery. You got to sit in a fire engine for the very first time. You make the cutest fireman Luke! You got really scared when the fire engines put their sirens on though and cried every time. I gave you big cuddles and we ended up spending more time over by the other trucks and farm machinery. You loved the shiny wheels on the big trucks and sitting in some of the farm machinery to play with the steering wheel. We love you so much Little Lukey Bear xx

Love from Mummy xo
