Week Thirty Seven

To My Little Bear

You weren’t feeling the best at the start of the week - your nose would be all blocked one minute and then really runny. I could tell you were frustrated and it made it hard for you to sleep. I was worried that you had a sore tummy too so I took you to the doctor on Wednesday to get checked out. You didn’t have a temperature and she checked all your tummy out, but said it was okay so must be an annoying cold. I put Baby Vicks on the bottom of your feet and put socks on them before bed. It seems to help you to sleep better. It’s Saturday now and your nose still seems to be blocked, but you seem a lot happier. Today you painted a   picture for Poppa Don’s birthday on Monday. I bought a frame to put it in today. I’m sure he will love it when you give it to him. I made some playdough for you to play with, but you thought it was food and tried to eat it. I felt really when you got upset about it and had to try to get it off the roof on your mouth. Rookie mum mistake. So then I got you a  baby rusk to eat, hoping that it would take the yucky taste away for you. You seemed to cheer up a bit after that and enjoyed painting. You can sit up by yourself for a little bit longer now. I bought you a tri-pillow so that you can use it as support. I know you don’t like sitting very much, but we just have to keep practising before the Plunket nurse comes in a couple of weeks.  You’ve been trying lots of different foods—egg, toast,       different fruits, muesli and are getting used to using your sippy cup for water. You’re growing up so quickly. It won’t be long and it will be your first birthday. I’ve already starting planning your rainbow themed party and have made a board on Pinterest. I want it to be really special for you. Maybe we’ll have to have a painting table, since you seem to like it so much! Love you Little Bear xx
